the march on washington was an assemblage of people in power converging on washington dc, our nations capital, only occasionally seen every few decades. a quarter of 1 million americans march on washington that hot summer day. each representing thousands and thousands of americans were standing up for both racial equality and job opportunities. across the nation. now i will defer to our main speaker, the man who is there and whose words you will soon hear them up but this was the largest public gathering in washington dc until that time in our nations history. only surpassed by some of the antiwar marches that followed later in the 60s. african-americans, teachers, students, union workers, 30 of all creeds and people of many walks of life, came together to appeal to the conscience of the nation and demand action that would enable the patient to live up to our constitutional ideals. that would free african-americans from the shackles of poverty and discrimination and free all of us from the reality of segregation that was as routine as was immoral. in many parts of the country. in 1963

the recreational director in chicago started a mainstream program which expanded into the trust in washington and other various states got on board and there was a main stream program in california. and then in june, we had a social heritage program at which one the corridors from oakland came and give us a talk. she was quite interesting i thought but one of the things that stuck in my mind was not emphasis but the night i think in some ways of having a strong local merchant organizations of some kind of that can propel all of the ideas that the city departments are trying to implement and apply for funding and grants and coordinate sales. and that i think it less - it's an organizing i guess i'm trying to say organizing the merchants is important vs. things like design and street improvement i think are of less importance in the success of a commercial area. so that's some lessons i think have come out in the programs in existence for 40 years now. i love this i think the japan town will really, really like under the g h s there is little that the planning department and zoning are being as

actually, i went to washington it was the best >> i want to thank captain for all the assistance. we mentioned with the card you mentioned about being distracted. cell phone theft is one of the major crimes that happens at stones town. he's worked with me to bring officers out i've given them access to the roofs so they can overlook the parking lots. you bring is big car out to our location and we have officers out there trying to stop the blrz of our cars. this month we've had 9 break-ins of cars. people are leaving everything in plain view. i've looked at the states and it looks one of the major crimes is people are driving straight from the airport and leaving their luggage and back pages and they're looking for electronics. i do want to thank the staff at terryville because we have what we call an orchard crime rate and one in particular was sunglasses. they came out they were 34 woman 189 r 18 to 26 years old they scooped up 26 pair of eyeglasses and i alerted the day watch i needed patrols between 8 and 9 and that's when the mall was closings. the chief said they ran directl
